“Today’s topic is derived from Philippians 1:21: “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” It brings to mind another verse from Galatians 2:20:

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

Reflecting on these verses, I realized that the statement “For me to live is Christ” serves as both a reminder and a call to action.

On one hand, it reminds us of the profound significance of the cross and the beautiful exchange that took place there. Our past, sins, shame, and guilt were nailed to the cross, and in return, we received a new life in Christ. It reminds us of the limitless possibilities and realities found in Jesus. Preparing for the Second Coming of Christ – By Sis Gbemisola Dawn Fache

“As a younger believer, whenever I saw words like “second coming”, “rapture”, “judgement”, fear and hopelessness were my immediate reactions. I wasn’t sure of my salvation or destination after death, and I did not really know the Lord at that time.
However, after a few months or years of staying consistently under God’s Word and being assured of my salvation and destination in Christ, my fear of the second coming of Christ changed to joyful expectation and gratitude to Jesus for the gift of salvation.
What exactly should be the believer’s attitude to the return of Christ? Should we be afraid of judgement? What should we expect at His return?

The Bible does not leave us in the dark as regards the second coming of Christ and what a believer’s attitude to it should be.

“The word, ‘Faith’ means to have a belief or a trust in God . It could also mean the observance of an obligation or fidelity to one’s promise or oath.

‘Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.’ – Hebrews 11:1-2.

Here are two significant ways by which your faith can be developed and strengthened.

▪️Through Good Works.

Good works here literally mean how we replicate the love of Christ towards one another, and our response to the Call of God.

Good works include every attitude and action consistent with God’s standard of what is right. Showing love to others, helping in the work of God, giving out time to the things of God, drawing other people who are not in Christ to God, giving alms to neighbours, friends, and family, helping the poor, sponsoring or supporting the work to advance the kingdom of God on earth etc. These are mostly the good works that the Bible tells us to observe and to do. You must exhibit or practice the good works in a godly manner in: kindness, goodness, gentleness, meekness, and faith. The Bible clearly points out that faith without works implies faith that is demonstrated in an inaccurate way…..”

“‘Then it says, I will return to the house I left. When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order.’ – Mathew 12: 44

An unoccupied heart is a heart without any content, void, having no occupant, spent in idleness or inactivity.

As Christians, our heart is like our home that needs to be occupied with what’s edifying and glorifying so as to make the most of our calling in thoughts, words and actions.

When you were saved, the blood of Jesus has already cleansed and put your heart in order. However you shouldn’t allow it to remain just like this, you must engage and fill it with the presence of God and the word of God.
